Meloland Cattle Company (Cattlemen's Feed & Milling) has been in operation since 1980 at our current location - 907 Brockman Road, El Centro, California. We are a custom cattle feeding operation specializing in feeding lightweight Holstein calves. Our capacity is 16,000 head at our two feeding locations. Our second feeding facility, Brandenberg Feed Yard is located at 903 West Highway 98, Calexico, California about four miles from our main yard location.
Cattlemen's Feed & Milling was established in 1966 as a finished feed supplier to feedlots in the Calexico, California area. In August of 1980 Cattlemen's Feed & Milling purchased Meloland Cattle Co. and have been operating as a custom cattle feeding operation since then. We moved our feed manufacturing operations to the feedlot in 1988 and left the property at 291 Cole Road in Calexico when the lease expired with Southern Pacific Railroad in 1991. Since that time all feed manufacturing has been completed on site.
We are a former owner of Brawley Beef, LLC and are currently a shareholder in US Premium Beef and therefore a partner in National Beef, LLC. Our cattle are marketed to National Beef mostly on a Grid basis. Our consulting nutritionist is Jon Beckett and our consulting veterinarian is John Silva. We believe in honesty and integrity in dealing with our customers and have the results to demonstrate our cattle performance.
